Description

This is a breakout board for Analog Devices Inc.'s ADXL345 chip, a triple-axis accelerometer with interfaces I2C and SPI. Thanks to a regulator and a logic level converter on board, it can be interfaced with both 3V and 5V microcontrollers such as the Arduino UNO. The sensor measures on three axes, XY and Z, and can communicate via digital interfaces I2C and SPI. You can set the sensitivity level to + -2g, + - 4g, + - 8g, or + -16g. The lower range allows for higher resolution for slow motion, the higher range is better for tracking high speeds. The ADXL345 chip is one of the best sensors from Analog Devices, known for its exceptional quality as a MEMS (Microelectromechanical system) device. The VIN pin takes input up to 5V and adjusts them to 3,3V, available The board has 9 breakout pins spaced 2,54mm (the pitch of the breadboards) positioned on the edge and two mounting holes with a 2,5mm diameter. For quick connection, connect VIN pin to 3,3-5V power supply, GND to ground, SCL to bus clock I2C (on Arduino UNO it is equivalent to pin A5), SDA to the data line I2C (on Arduino UNO it is the same as A4). Download the library from the Adafruit repository, once the file has been unzipped, rename the folder to “Adafruit_ADXL345”, check that it contains a .cpp and a .h file and place it in the Arduino libraries folder. If this is your first time installing a library on Arduino, consult this guide on Adafruit. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: ADXL345-EP DatasheetTUTORIALS: ADXL345 Digital Accelerometer [by Adafruit]
