Description

The AMG8833 is a High Precision Infrared Array Sensor from Panasonic. It can detect temperatures on a two-dimensional area, 8 × 8 (64 pixels), in the range 0 ° C to 80 ° C with a typical accuracy of ± 2.5 ° C ± 4.5 ° F and can detect a human from a distance of 7 m or less.
This breakout board includes a 3.3V regulator and level shifting circuitry.
The sensor communicates over I2C bus, the default address is 0x69. Soldering the jumper on the back of the board, you'll set 0x68 as the I2C address.
We wrote a Python 3 library and some examples to quickly start with a Raspberry Pi.
Check out schematics and datasheet for more technical specs.
